Autonomous Flight Through Small Spaces

Other
Small Space Detection

While today’s drones have many different kinds of sensors that allow them to detect and avoid obstacles, they are still not able to operate autonomously in tight spaces. Researchers at Robohub are working to change this by developing and testing hardware and software solutions that will allow small quadcopters to fly through very small and constrained spaces without any human intervention.

In the future there may be opportunities for small drones to fly into a collapsed or unstable building to do search and rescue missions. This would open up a whole new world of possibilities for first responders and other public safety officials.
