Flying your expensive drone over water is exhilarating as well as nerve racking! While the most beautiful and interesting shots often require you maneuver your drone over a lake or ocean, the risk of ending up in the water, with no hope of recovery is ever present. Well fear no more! The WaterStrider is a current campaign on Kickstarter that takes its inspiration from water walking insects. The WaterStrider has four bulbous, air filled pods that not only provide flotation but also provide a wider and more stable landing platform that the standard gear on most quadcopters. The initial product will be available for the DJI Phantom 3 with more to follow.
